Vision

Our vision
At Karis, we want to see a thriving local community in which anyone needing support or advice has someone to turn to. We want to see a society in which no one is ever lonely or in need, and where friendship and encouragement are offered at every turn.

Our mission statement
At Karis, we aim to use our vast network of volunteers to offer friendship, guidance, advice and practical support to anyone in the community who needs it. We recognise the difficulties many people face in life, and we are here to ease these hardships by directly addressing the issues that other organisations sometimes allow to fall by the wayside.

Our current aims and objectives
To offer a friendly helping hand to anyone who needs it! Whether you’re lonely, isolated or marginalised, we aim to encourage our community to rally together and support each other.

To offer practical support to anyone having difficulties who are perhaps unable to find support from their usual sources.

To offer advice and guidance to anyone needing it, or to point them in the right direction if we know of someone else who can provide specialist advice. We have links with various other organisations, as well as debt advice agencies and several departments within the local authorities.

To be responsive to people’s needs, and ensure that through the implementation of all of our other objectives we promote a healthy, vibrant society with a strong community spirit.
